Inside the EO: Fresh Faces Series

Name: Bree Formentini

Hometown: Glenview, Illinois

Chapter: Iota Eta at DePaul University

What was your major in college?
Environmental Public Policy Major
Applied Psychology Minor

Geographic Information Systems Certificate

What was your plan post-graduation? I planned to work full-time after graduating from DePaul—I will pursue a graduate degree in the future, but for now I am enjoying my position at the EO! Ideally, I’d like to work and pursue a graduate degree all at once.

Why did you decide to work for Alpha Phi International Fraternity? As a collegiate member, I was very involved in Alpha Phi.  I served as both the Vice President of Membership Recruitment, the Vice President of Marketing and participated on a variety of committees.  I was able to learn about and appreciate many aspects of the Fraternity and really developed a passion for Alpha Phi.  After school, I wanted to continue my dedication to Alpha Phi and this position is actually the very first job I officially applied to because I just knew it’d be a great experience.

What is your job title?

Program Coordinator of Membership Services

How long have you been working for Alpha Phi?

I have been working for Alpha Phi since early September 2013.

What is your favorite memory of Alpha Phi—as a collegian, alumna, or staff member? My favorite memory was planning Red Dress Gala and getting to enjoy an evening at The Drake Hotel downtown with all of my APhi sisters, family, and friends.

What do you like best about working at the Executive Office/What drew you to work at the Executive Office? Each day of work is worthwhile because I know I am working for an organization that I truly care about.  It’s great knowing that everyone in the office feels the same way and we all work toward the same goal—bettering Alpha Phi.

What are some of your goals for the next few years? I would like to learn Italian—being trilingual would be fun!

Do you have any advice for current collegiate members? Alpha Phi is made up of thousands of unique individuals who come together to form one cohesive bond of women all across North America.Be yourself and always value the friends, memories and experiences that help you grow and learn along the way
